The tapered tree auger is designed to dig the perfect 25º hole every time. The patented, revolutionary design utilizes hard faced gauge teeth at each half revolution throughout the flighting; easily cutting the perfect cone-shaped hole.
Until now most nurserymen relied upon a traditional step-down tree auger. This bit will leave a slight taper on the bottom of the hole, however, the majority of the flighting is vertical. The result is that the hole will have a vertical wall with a lot of loose dirt. Because of this, the hole will have to be reshaped manually and cleaned out.
